Etude du comportement en commutation douce de semiconducteurs assemblés en série

Abstract : This thesis studies the possibilities of soft switching principles applications in serial connection. It is divided in two parts. First, we aim at setting up rules to achieve high voltage converter using soft switching and serial connection. Two points are highlighted: voltage unbalance due to delays in drive and scattering in components characteristics, and effects of stray capacitance to earth. In each case, the different ways of connecting inductors and capacitors with switches are considered. The conclusion of the study is that distributing inductors and capacitors among switches limits voltage unbalance and parasitic overcurrents, and allows soft switching conditions for all the serial connected devices. The second part of this thesis uses previous principles in high voltage choppers. A bibliographic study allows to highlights two soft switching topologies suitable for serial connection. Both are studied and tested.
