Etude des diffusions élastiques de faisceaux radioactifs de 10,11Be et 6He sur des cibles de protons et carbone aux énergies du GANIL

Abstract : We have studied the angular distributions of elastic scattering cross sections of {10.11}Be and 6He at 40 A.MeV, on p and 12C targets. We wanted to know whether the weak binding of exotic nuclei significantly amplifies the polarization potential, which includes coupling to the continuum, and whether it is appropriate to question the models and effective NN interactions that give good results for stable nuclei. The data were collected at GANIL. The SISSI and SPEG devices provided secondary beam production and scattered particle detection, respectively. A Monte-Carlo program was developed to simulate the measurement of the cross sections in SPEG and their normalization by incident angle distributions. The mean field approach has led to a more complete study of the polarization potential than many-body models, which do not control the effects of this potential. We computed the elastic scattering cross sections using the ECIS97 coupled channel equation code. The nucleus-nucleon analysis using the complex JLM microscopic potential shows that the effect of the nucleus break-up is mainly on the real part. A complex surface potential, of which the real part is repulsive, is added to the optical elastic scattering potential. It simulates the surface effects generated by the polarization potential. We then reproduce a wide range of elastic scattering data of exotic nuclei on p. We calculated the interaction potential of the exotic nucleus on 12C in the folding (convolution) model, with new density dependent NN interactions. We added to the convolution potential the polarization potential obtained in the proton scattering analysis. The reproduction of the data is then satisfactory. The thesis has thus identified an adequate treatment of the elastic scattering of an exotic nucleus on a target.
