Understanding self-discharge or what's going on inside a lead-acid battery when nothing happens outside

Abstract : A physics-based model has been developed to study the main electrochemical processes at stake during the battery self-discharge at different temperatures, explaining why the battery still remains active even though it is unused. Moreover, we will show how each electrode behaves independently from the other and the further consequences.
