Which mileage to pay off an electrified vehicle CO2 debt ?

Abstract

There is a controversy concerning the mileage at which an electric vehicle begins to emit less CO2 than a internal combustion engine powered equivalent vehicle: 10 000 km ? 50 000 km ? 100 000 km ? Based on recent results, this presentation puts in evidence the various parameters conditioning this mileage, and shows that even better results may be within handreach in the fight against CO2 emissions, if the action of all industrial players is smartly coordinated by public authorities.
