Extensive validation and possible improvements of the FSC method

Abstract : The FSC method is a method that characterizes solar combisystems performances thanks to a dimensionless quantity that represents the operation conditions (climate, loads and collectors features). So far, this method has been validated with a certain extent of boundary conditions and controller settings. This paper explores the limits of the current FSC method with thousands additional simulations. It further validates the FSC approach, highlights some problematic range of conditions for the accuracy of the method and suggests some improvements to reduce errors in performance estimations.
