Abstract

This topic deals with the catalytic part of the ATP-synthase present in the thylakoids from higher plants. green algae, photosynthetic bacteria and cyanobacteria. We also refer to some specific results obtained with proton-ATPase from $Escherichia\ coli, thermophilic bacterium PS3 and mitochondria. The most important change in this field is the very fast development of our knowledge of the primary structure of the constituents of the ATP-synthase
