In-situ synchrotron crystallographic texture characterization during phase transformation at high temperatures in ODS ferritic steel

Résumé

Texture evolution in a ferritic-martensitic 9wtpercentCr Oxide Dispersion Strengthened (ODS) steels is studied during in-situ heat treatment using synchrotron X-Ray diffraction analysis. The initial texture of cold-formed ODS steel tubes presents a well-known et945;-fiber (<101> -- RD). After high temperature heat treatment, this sharp texture fiber, inherited from cold forming, is still observed. To elucidate the effect of et945;-et61543; phase transformation on the microstructure, diffracted transmission patterns are acquired during the heating-cooling sequence. Initial cold worked texture, holding time and cooling rate influence on the final texture is studied. This study offers a special insight on the crystallographic texture of austenite in ODS steel.
