Modelling of specimen interaction with ferrite cored coils by coupling semi-analytical and numerical techniques

Abstract : Two numerical techniques, the finite integration technique (FIT) and the surface integral equation (SIE) method are combined with the semi-analytical calculation of the field in planar conducting pieces in order to calculate the interaction of such specimens with ferrite-cored eddy-current probes. Coupling different techniques allows us to chose the best suited for each part of the configuration and to better exploit the existing symmetries.
