Noise filtering in the total focusing method by decomposition of the time reversal operator and the virtual array approach
Abstract
The total focusing method is sometimes described in the literature as the ``gold standard'' compared to conventional ultrasonic imaging techniques. However, this method may suffer from a low signal-to-noise ratio, especially in materials with high structural noise. In this context, we propose a new method of noise filtering based on the decomposition of the time reversal operator and the use of virtual sources.
