Synthesis of an Ionic Network by Molecular Recognition between Two Porphyrins at the Air-Water Interface

Résumé

The present work deals with the building of a planar ionic paving based on amphiphilic porphyrins. The engineering strategy is based on a molecular recognition at the air-water interface between two differently tetrasubstituted porphyrins P1 and P2. The direct mixing of MP1 and MP2 (M  Cu, H2) leads to the spontaneous formation of face to face ionic heterodimers which have been fully characterized. On the contrary, when MP2 is replaced by its μ-oxo dimer (FeP2)2O, the steric hindrance prevents the heterodimerization with P1 and the final structure is now the claimed ionic planar network
